It's 1:00 and I haven't eaten any food today or taken a shower yet. I need to walk away from this office and go be a normal person for a while.
This morning, I waited around for the exterminator. Tiny ants are building an ant hill under my dining room carpet. No matter how many times that I vacuum them up and lay out those ant hotels, the little buggers keep coming back. That's Problem Number One.
Problem Number Two. When this house was inspected, the inspector found termite damage in one area of the house. We negotiated with the owners and they replaced the beam that was the breakfast buffet for the termites and they brought in termite poison dudes.
We called in the Bug Control dude to deal with Problem Number One and to make sure that Problem Number Two hadn't reappeared. He found that there was termite damage that far exceeded what the House Inspector reported to us. It was also not clear that the first Termite Poison Dudes did a good job. He said that if we didn't have a year guarentee from the first Termite Poison Compnay that he would charge us $1,000 to dig a poison trench around the house to kill them for good.
FYI. When you hire an inspector to look over a home that you're thinking of buying, do not use someone that your real estate agent recommends. She wants you to buy the house and will recommend any Inspector who will give the house a green light.
After that news, I threw myself into some work. I need to walk away now. I need a jog and some lunch. After that, we move into the weekend. I'm chaperoning a middle school dance. There's tutoring for Ian, Hunger games, and Palm Sunday. Hope your weekend is filled with lots of silliness, too.
